Mitchell Starc Expresses Surprise Over Pakistan's Decelerated Pace in Perth Test:

Australia’s left-arm speedster, Mitchell Starc, expressed astonishment at Pakistan’s diminished pace during the Perth Test, where the home team secured a resounding 360-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Despite Pakistan’s reputation for possessing a formidable pace attack, they struggled to trouble the Australian batters in the opening match. While debutants Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shazad displayed glimpses of promise, their batting faltered ineffectively during the chase.

Starc, much like everyone else, was taken aback by the reduced speed of the Pakistani bowlers, known for their typically swift deliveries of around 150 kph. He acknowledged that while pace is a factor, it isn’t the sole determinant of success. Starc cited the example of fellow Australian Scott Boland, highlighting that Boland doesn’t always bowl at maximum speed but effectively troubles batsmen with precise line and length.

Starc emphasized that pace alone is not the decisive factor, underscoring the importance of complementing different bowling styles within the Australian attack. He pointed out Scott Boland’s ability to generate significant sideways movement at his home ground in Melbourne, showcasing that variations in approach can be equally impactful.

In conclusion, Starc emphasized that the Australian bowling unit’s success lies in their ability to complement each other’s strengths, showcasing diverse skills beyond sheer pace.
