LAHORE: The plan to enhance three primary stadiums received approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, during a meeting held on Wednesday.This initiative follows Naqvi’s announcement earlier regarding the necessary upgrades to the country’s major stadiums ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In a follow-up session with NESPAK (National Engineering Services of Pakistan) officials, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi discussed the upgradation of three key venues in Pakistan, stated the PCB in a press release.”The meeting, attended by COO PCB Salman Naseer, Director Infrastructure PCB Nasir Hameed, and GM NESPAK, involved the presentation of initial designs for the immediate upgradation of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Stadium in Karachi, and Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of enhancing the spectator experience from every seat in the stadium and stressed the renovation of hospitality boxes at all three venues.

“With the finalization of the upgradation plan imminent, Naqvi instructed NESPAK officials to commence work on the stadiums promptly, considering the tight timeline leading up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.”Addressing the media at the National Bank Stadium following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged the necessity to upgrade the three primary stadiums, followed by the enhancement of other venues.”Our main venues in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi will undergo upgrades before the Champions Trophy. Subsequently, we will focus on upgrading other venues. Once renovated, our stadiums will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities,” affirmed Chairman PCB.
