The defending champions Lahore Qalandars have received a significant boost with the inclusion of celebrated all-rounders Carlos Brathwaite and Sikandar Raza into their squad ahead of their second Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 encounter.
Both Brathwaite and Raza will be eligible for selection in Qalandars’ upcoming clash against Quetta Gladiators scheduled for Monday.
Describing Raza’s prowess, Qalandars highlighted his multifaceted abilities and dynamic presence on the field, emphasizing his role in contributing with both bat and ball, thus enriching the team’s strategic approach. Despite missing the opening game due to prior commitments in ILT20, Raza’s inclusion is anticipated to bolster the squad significantly.
On the other hand, Carlos Brathwaite, recognized as a T20 specialist and a formidable power-hitter, brings his explosive batting skills and tactical bowling to Lahore Qalandars’ lineup. His addition is aimed at fortifying the team’s bench strength.
Both players are slated to be available for the entire duration of the tournament, commencing their participation immediately. Their presence is expected to inject depth and international experience into Lahore Qalandars’ campaign for championship glory, as expressed by the team’s management.
Following a disappointing start to their PSL 9 journey with an eight-wicket loss against Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars are determined to rebound strongly as they prepare to take on the formidable Quetta Gladiators, who commenced their campaign with a victory.
