DUBAI: India has ascended to the pinnacle of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Test Team Rankings after a commanding 4-1 series triumph against England.
The Indian squad surpassed Australia, who now occupy the second position in the standings, as per the latest rankings unveiled by the ICC.
India faced an initial setback in the Test series against England but rallied to secure victories in the subsequent four matches, including the decisive encounter in Dharamsala.
In January, India temporarily slipped to the second position in the Test rankings following a drawn 1-1 series against South Africa. Australia claimed the top spot after a comprehensive three-Test series win at home against Pakistan.
Presently, Australia leads the two-Test series against New Zealand 1-0 after clinching a 172-run victory in Wellington.
Regardless of the outcome of the second New Zealand-Australia Test in Christchurch, India is set to maintain its lead at the top.
It’s worth noting that India already holds the number-one position in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings and the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings.
Furthermore, India currently leads the ICC World Test Championship Standings table.
