Caretaker PM Kakar Approves Resignation of Zaka Ashraf as PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf Steps Down from PCB Management Committee Chairmanship; Resignation Accepted by PM Kakar Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has officially sanctioned the resignation of Zaka Ashraf from the position of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman.

Ashraf had voluntarily stepped down from his role on Friday and had also chosen to relinquish his membership in the Board of Governors (BoG).

Insiders revealed that Ashraf’s decision to resign stemmed from the lack of authority granted by the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). The IPC had halted the management committee’s meeting in Karachi on Tuesday, instructing Ashraf not to make any decisions.

Ashraf, seeking to align decisions with the BoG and upcoming elections, had faced opposition from the IPC, which barred him from overseeing the T-10 league.

Having submitted his resignation to the caretaker prime minister, Ashraf’s fate now rests on the premier’s acceptance, potentially necessitating the organization of new BoG elections.
