Rain Plays Spoilsport Again: Quetta Gladiators vs. Islamabad United PSL 9 Match Washed Out:

News by “Sana Ullah”

Continuing heavy rain in Rawalpindi thwarted the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 fixture between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, resulting in both teams sharing points.

Earlier in the day, persistent rain had also washed out the first match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi.

The toss for the Quetta Gladiators vs. Islamabad United encounter was delayed as ground staff covered the field to shield it from the downpour.

Despite brief efforts to dry the ground during a temporary break in the rain, the precipitation resumed, leading umpires to deem the conditions unsuitable for play.

The inclement weather may also disrupt the second match scheduled between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

Following the abandonment, Lahore Qalandars earned their first point in PSL 9, sharing it with Peshawar Zalmi after their match was called off.

Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions, currently occupy the bottom of the points table after suffering six consecutive losses, while Peshawar Zalmi holds the third position with seven points.
