The franchise, known for strategic player grabs, recently drafted young guns Hunain and Ubaid Shah to join forces with the fiery Naseem Shah. Addressing whispers of nepotism head-on, Naseem, the eldest brother, emphasized their merit-based selections. “I’m not the chief selector,” he declared, nipping favoritism concerns in the bud. “Their talent, not family ties, earned them their spots.”

Naseem, who previously donned Quetta Gladiators colors, now embraces the “new” territory of Islamabad United with palpable excitement. He envisions a fruitful season in his cricketing haven, while acknowledging the challenges ahead. This lanky, agile fast bowler, fresh from his grueling comeback journey, relishes the thrilling prospect of bowling to the PSL’s batting giants.

Emphasising that he is not the chief selector, Naseem underscored the merit-based nature of the inclusion of Hunain and Ubaid, crediting their individual efforts and dedication to the sport.

“I am not the chief selector; I cannot bring my brothers into the team,” stated Naseem, putting to rest any doubts about nepotism, and highlighting the fair and competitive nature of their selection process.
