ICC Officials Meet with PCB Chairman Naqvi After Champions Trophy Venue Inspection

ISLAMABAD: Following inspections of venues and facilities in Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) convened with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday.

Led by Chris Tetley, ICC’s Head of Events, the delegation included Sarah Edgar, Senior Manager of event operations, and Aun Zaidi, Manager of event operations.

In attendance at the meeting were PCB’s COO Salman Naseer, Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla, and other PCB officials.

After scrutinizing National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, the ICC delegation emphasized the extensive preparations required to successfully host the Champions Trophy 2025.

Recognizing the significance of hosting a flawless tournament, Mohsin Naqvi assured the delegation of comprehensive preparations at all levels.

He outlined plans for the upgrade of stadiums and reaffirmed his commitment to leaving no stone unturned.

“Hosting an ICC Tournament in Pakistan is a great pleasure and a positive development for the board and cricket fans nationwide, who are vital stakeholders in this sport,” said Naqvi.

“The PCB will ensure top-notch facilities befitting the stature of this historic tournament. I am pleased to announce that the PCB will enhance the three major venues in the country well ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. We are determined to make this tournament a resounding success and a cherished memory.”

The ICC delegation expressed satisfaction with the facilities offered in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
