PCB Terminates Haris Rauf's Central Contract:

News by “Sana Ullah”

In a decisive move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opted to penalize fast bowler Haris Rauf for his refusal to join Pakistan’s Test squad for the Australia tour of 2023-24.

Following a thorough investigation by a PCB committee, which included a hearing allowing Rauf to present his perspective, the decision was made to terminate his central contract effective from December 1, 2023. Additionally, Rauf will not be granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in any foreign league until June 30, 2024.

The statement from the PCB emphasized that despite the opportunity for a personal hearing on January 30, 2024, Rauf’s explanation failed to meet the committee’s expectations.

The PCB reiterated the significance of representing Pakistan, emphasizing that refusal to join the Test squad without a valid medical report or justifiable reason constitutes a serious breach of the central contract.

The board’s decision underscores the importance of commitment and respect for national duty, values that are fundamental to Pakistan cricket.
