ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi convened with Pakistan players participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 at a local hotel on Tuesday.

During the gathering, the chairman commended the players’ performances in national colors. Alongside him were COO PCB Salman Naseer, Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, and other PCB dignitaries.

Addressing the players, Naqvi emphasized the importance of unity in achieving success. He stressed the PCB’s commitment to promoting meritocracy within the organization.

“Players who demonstrate exceptional performance will be provided with ample opportunities to showcase their skills. Each one of you has the talent required to excel at this level,” Naqvi stated.

Encouraging a resilient mindset, Naqvi urged players to display a fighting spirit regardless of outcomes. He reassured them of the unwavering support of cricket enthusiasts in Pakistan.

“For the greater good of the team, sacrifices may be necessary as we prepare for upcoming challenges,” Naqvi remarked. “The PCB is dedicated to enhancing facilities at major cricket venues across the nation.”

Regarding preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Naqvi outlined the team’s schedule. “We have a series against New Zealand at home, followed by away fixtures against Ireland and England. Subsequently, we head to the USA for the mega event,” he explained.

To ensure the team’s readiness for the rigorous season ahead, Naqvi announced plans for a comprehensive strength and conditioning camp.
