Pakistan Secures 9th Position in FIH 5-Side Hockey World Cup:

In the ongoing FIH 5-Side Hockey World Cup in Muscat, Oman, Pakistan attained the 9th position after defeating Switzerland with a scoreline of 01-10. The Challenger Trophy was awarded to Pakistan by the FIH.

Captain Rana Abdul Wahid Ashraf emerged as the top scorer of the event, netting 23 goals. Alongside him, Zakria Hayat scored a hat-trick, while Abdul Hannan Shahid, Arshad Liaqat, and Ghazanfar Ali each contributed two goals, and Ghazanfar Ali scored one goal.

The Pakistan 5-Side hockey team’s management comprised head coach Olympian Shakil Abbasi and manager Olympian Dilawar Hussain, with support staff including physiotherapist Waseem Mahmood and video operator Junaid Akhtar.

A total of 16 teams participated in the event.
