Shaheen Afridi Issues a Firm Warning Following Removal from Captaincy

Pakistan’s pace spearhead, Shaheen Afridi, delivered a strong message on Friday via his Instagram account, in response to his dismissal as the T20I captain of the national squad.

Afridi shared a cryptic post on his official Instagram, cautioning against pushing him too far, hinting at a potentially different facet of his personality.

“Never push me to the brink where I have to unveil my ruthless side. Do not test my patience. Though I may appear kind and gentle, once provoked beyond limit, I’ll exhibit capabilities you never imagined,” read the story.

Babar Azam replaced Shaheen Afridi as Pakistan’s T20I skipper, reclaiming the helm ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Afridi had taken over the T20I leadership from Babar Azam following Pakistan’s disappointing outing at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

However, his captaincy stint was short-lived, marked by Pakistan’s 4-1 series loss to New Zealand in the solitary series under his guidance.

In the meantime, Babar Azam’s reintroduction as captain will commence with a five-match home T20I series against New Zealand, starting on April 18 in Rawalpindi.
