RAWALPINDI: Hasan Ali’s impressive four-wicket haul, backed by other bowlers, helped Karachi Kings restrict Quetta Gladiators to a modest total of 118 in the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Karachi Kings’ captain Shan Masood’s decision paid off early as Blessing Muzarabani dismissed Jason Roy (15) with just 20 runs on the board.

Saud Shakeel and Khawaja Nafay steadied Quetta Gladiators’ innings with a 47-run partnership for the second wicket off 36 balls before Hasan Ali struck to dismiss Shakeel.

Shakeel was the top scorer for Quetta Gladiators, contributing 33 runs off 28 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Ali’s double-wicket over further dented Quetta’s progress as they struggled to recover.

Captain Rilee Rossouw managed a cautious 10 runs off 16 balls, while Akeal Hosein added a quickfire 14 runs in 13 balls, including a six.

However, Karachi Kings’ bowlers tightened the screws, preventing Quetta Gladiators from building substantial partnerships. Quetta finished at 118 runs in the final over, despite being 65-1 at one stage.

Hasan Ali spearheaded Karachi Kings’ bowling attack with figures of 4-15, while Muzarabani and Zahid Mahmood contributed with two wickets each.
