The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the departure of former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, marking the end of his tenure as Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the PCB expressed its heartfelt appreciation for Hafeez’s invaluable contributions during his time with the team.

Recognizing Hafeez’s unwavering passion for the game, the PCB highlighted his role as an inspirational figure for players, particularly noting his mentorship during challenging tours to Australia and New Zealand.

As Hafeez embarks on a new journey, the PCB conveyed its best wishes for his future endeavors.

Earlier, in November, Hafeez was appointed as the team director following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the World Cup held in India.

In a separate announcement on X, the PCB revealed changes to the coaching staff’s portfolio, with all coaches set to continue their work at the National Cricket Academy. The board also indicated that a new coaching staff would be announced for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand.

However, despite his efforts while leading Pakistan during the Oceania tour, Hafeez faced mounting pressure following unfavorable results, ultimately leading to his decision to step down.

Mohammad Hafeez leaves behind an impressive cricketing legacy, having represented Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs, and 119 T20s. Additionally, he served as a member of the technical committee.
