Ahead of the highly-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 final, scheduled for Monday, Islamabad United’s skipper Shadab Khan and Multan Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan came together to pose with the coveted Orion Trophy.
To heighten the excitement among cricket fans, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized a special captains’ photo shoot at Karachi’s Custom House on Sunday.
The theme of the shoot drew inspiration from the city’s iconic mini-buses, adding a local touch to the event.
After the shoot, both captains shared their thoughts on the upcoming blockbuster final.
Rizwan, who led Sultans to their third consecutive PSL final, expressed his team’s excitement while downplaying the pressure of the big occasion.
“We are in our fourth consecutive final. Everyone in the team is thrilled, but for me, it’s just another game,” remarked Rizwan.
Meanwhile, Shadab Khan of Islamabad United expressed his enthusiasm for playing in the PSL final after a six-year gap.
“Our team’s camaraderie has always been exceptional, and we operate as a unified family,” said Shadab.
Both captains also urged fans to pack the iconic National Bank Cricket Stadium for the PSL 9 final.
In the ongoing PSL 9 season, Multan Sultans have had an outstanding run, securing the top spot in the league stage and comfortably reaching the final.
On the other hand, Islamabad United had a rollercoaster campaign, overcoming initial setbacks to secure their place in the playoffs and ultimately booking a spot in the final after consecutive victories in the knockout stages.
The clash promises to be an enthralling encounter as both teams vie for PSL glory.
