In a historic turn of events, Virat Kohli becomes the first player ever to achieve the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award for the fourth time. The recently revealed ICC Awards 2023 winners saw Australia’s Pat Cummins clinching the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year, while Nat Sciver-Brunt secured her second consecutive Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.

Pat Cummins had an exceptional year, leading Australia to victory in both the ICC World Test Championship and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. His remarkable individual performances included taking 42 wickets in 11 Tests and 17 wickets in 13 ODIs. Cummins is the fifth Australian to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy.

Cummins expressed his honor, stating, “It’s a huge honour. It has been a big year, lots of wonderful team success. To get this individual honour is huge and I am pretty amazed.”

Women’s Cricketer of the Year: Nat Sciver-Brunt

Nat Sciver-Brunt’s consistent performances across all formats earned her the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. Scoring runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, she joined an elite company by winning the award for the second consecutive year.

Sciver-Brunt shared her excitement, saying, “It feels pretty special. I wasn’t expecting it as I was coming up against some players that have done so well in 2023. I’m really pleased and pretty proud.”

  • Umpire of the Year: Richard Illingworth
    • England’s Richard Illingworth secured the David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year for the third time.
  • Spirit of Cricket Award: Zimbabwe Cricket
    • Zimbabwe Cricket received the Spirit of Cricket Award for their sportsmanship in consoling West Indies after a thrilling victory.

The winners were determined through votes from the ICC Voting Academy and global cricket fans.
