Former Pakistan captain and team director Mohammad Hafeez has addressed the shortcomings in Lahore Qalandars’ opener Sahibzada Farhan’s batting technique.

Farhan’s struggles were evident in Lahore Qalandars’ match against Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9, where he managed only two runs in 12 balls.

Choosing to bowl first, Islamabad United’s Naseem Shah exploited Farhan’s vulnerabilities with a brilliant maiden over, ultimately dismissing him early in the innings.

Hafeez, speaking on the A-Sports show ‘The Pavilion,’ highlighted Farhan’s discomfort against swinging deliveries, emphasizing the need for improvement.

Former captain Wasim Akram echoed similar concerns, noting Farhan’s apparent struggle against swing bowling, particularly in challenging conditions.

Despite Farhan’s recent struggles, he remains the fifth highest run-scorer in PSL 9, showcasing his potential.

In a recent match, Lahore Qalandars secured their first victory of the season, defeating Islamabad United by 17 runs. Zaman Khan’s four-wicket haul and Rassie van der Dussen’s resilient innings were instrumental in their success.
