Pakistan Cricket Board announces coaching staff for New Zealand T20I series

Former Pakistan speedster Azhar Mahmood has been appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, slated to be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from April 18 to April 27. Azhar, who has represented Pakistan in 164 internationals, clinching 162 wickets and amassing 2,421 runs, previously served as the bowling coach for the Pakistan men’s cricket team from 2016 to 2019.

Taking on the role of senior team manager is Wahab Riaz, with Mohammad Yousuf assuming the responsibility of batting coach. Saeed Ajmal, who previously served as the bowling coach during tours of Australia and New Zealand, will continue in his role as the spin bowling coach. Additionally, the Pakistan squad for the New Zealand series is set to be revealed on Tuesday, April 9, at 2:15 pm in the media conference room at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Support personnel for the Pakistan team during the New Zealand T20Is include Wahab Riaz as the senior team manager, Mansoor Rana as the team manager, Azhar Mahmood as the head coach, Mohammad Yousuf as the batting coach, Saeed Ajmal as the spin bowling coach, Aftab Khan as the field coach, Cliffe Deacon as the physiotherapist, Drikus Saiman as the strength and conditioning coach, Talha Butt as the analyst, Irtiza Komail as the security manager, Raza Kitchlew as the media and digital manager, Zain Maqsood as the videographer, Dr. Khurram Sarwar as the doctor, and Mohammad Imran as the masseur.
