The Pakistan Tennis Federation is honored to announce the commencement of the ITF Pakistan Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Junior Championship Leg-2, taking place at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad. This event stands as a tribute to the late Zainab Ali Naqvi, a promising junior tennis player tragically lost in Islamabad last week.

In memory of Zainab Ali Naqvi, Court No-1 of the PTF Complex was dedicated during a solemn ceremony today. Henceforth, it will be known as the Zainab Ali Naqvi Court, forever preserving her legacy within the tennis community.

The dedication ceremony was attended by Zainab’s parents, who traveled from Karachi for the occasion. Also present were esteemed figures including Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, former President of PTF, and Mr. Aisam ul Haq Qureshi, President of PTF, along with a multitude of players’ parents, coaches, and tennis enthusiasts.

During the ceremony, Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and Mr. Aisam ul Haq Qureshi paid heartfelt tributes to Zainab’s talent and expressed sincere condolences to her parents and loved ones. The shock of her loss reverberates through the tennis community, ensuring that she will always be remembered and cherished.

The tournament features 48 players from various countries, including Kazakhstan, Turkey, USA, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Romania, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Holland, and Thailand. Among them, 30 talented Pakistani boys and girls are competing, showcasing the diversity and strength of junior tennis on a global scale.

In the Boys Singles 1st Round matches, notable victories were achieved by players such as Xiuyuan Guo (CHN), Doruk Elbirlik (TUR), and Ahmed Nael Qureshi (PAK), among others. Each match is a testament to the skill and determination of these young athletes as they vie for success in honor of Zainab’s memory.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation extends its gratitude to all participants, supporters, and sponsors for their contributions to making this tournament a fitting tribute to Zainab Ali Naqvi’s enduring spirit and passion for the game.
