New Zealand Cricket Unveils Venues for England Tests

Auckland: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) revealed the locations for the upcoming three-match Test series against England, set to take place later this year.

The initial pair of encounters in the World Test Championship series will occur at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, starting from November 28, followed by clashes at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, commencing on December 6.

The final showdown will unfold at Seddon Park in Hamilton, kicking off on December 14.

The first three days of New Zealand’s recent home Tests against Australia saw packed stadiums, and NZC is optimistic that the allure of the five-day format will draw large crowds for the England matches as well. Scott Weenink, the CEO of NZC, expressed hope that the enthusiasm for Test cricket will translate into robust ticket sales and viewership numbers.

“In the past, there’s often been a lot of talk in New Zealand about the popularity of Test cricket – without that translating into ticket sales or viewership numbers,” said Scott Weenink. “The difference over the past summer, and in terms of the upcoming Tests against England, is that the interest is being converted to bums on seats and is driving record viewership numbers.”

“We’re looking forward to that continuing over the upcoming summer, and to welcoming the England team and their fans to the Tests, and of course all the Kiwi-based supporters as well.”

New Zealand vs. England Schedule First Test: Nov 28-Dec 2, Hagley Oval, Christchurch

Second Test: Dec 6-10, Basin Reserve, Wellington
