Persistent rain at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium led to the abandonment of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi.

Initially, the toss was delayed due to the heavy downpour, with groundsmen working to cover the field. Despite brief respite allowing for some drying efforts, the rain returned, forcing umpires to declare the match unplayable.

The inclement weather also threatens the second match of the day, featuring Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at the same venue.

Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi were awarded one point each following the abandonment, marking Lahore Qalandars’ first point in the tournament. Despite being defending champions, Lahore Qalandars languish at the bottom of the points table after suffering six consecutive defeats.

In contrast, Peshawar Zalmi occupies the third position with seven points.
