Dubai, December 14, 2023: The ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023 is nearing its climax, with Pakistan U19 preparing for a crucial semi-final clash against host nation UAE U19. The match will be held at the ICC Academy Ground Dubai on December 15th at 9:30 AM local time.
Pakistan U19 have been a dominant force in Group A, finishing the group stage unbeaten. Their impressive journey included a thrilling seven-wicket victory over Nepal U19, powered by Mohammad Zeeshan’s outstanding spell of six wickets for 19 runs and a quickfire 20-run cameo.
Azan Awais further cemented his place as a star to watch with a magnificent century (105 runs off 130 balls) against India U19, guiding his team to a comfortable eight-wicket win. Shamyl Hussain added to Pakistan’s dominance with a brilliant all-round performance against Afghanistan U19, scoring 75 runs off 54 balls and taking one wicket, leading Pakistan to an 83-run victory.
The upcoming semi-final promises a fierce contest as both teams aim for a place in the coveted final. UAE U19, boasting impressive home-field advantage and strong performances against Bangladesh, Japan, and Sri Lanka in Group B, will pose a significant threat.
Pakistan U19 previously defeated UAE U19 by 21 runs at the ICC Academy Ground in 2021, with Qasim Akram earning the player-of-the-match award for his all-round contribution.
