News by “Sana Ullah”

Karachi Kings’ fast bowler Hasan Ali has entered an exclusive club, becoming only the second bowler in the history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to capture 100 wickets.

The achievement came during a match against Islamabad United in the ongoing PSL season 9 when Hasan Ali dismissed Alex Hales, marking his historic milestone.

Prior to Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz of Peshawar Zalmi held the distinction of being the first player to reach 100 wickets in PSL history, currently leading with 113 wickets.

Hasan Ali is now on the cusp of surpassing this record, closely followed by Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, who has secured 98 wickets to date.

It’s worth noting that Hasan Ali joined Karachi Kings for PSL 9 through a trade deal with Islamabad United, involving Imad Wasim.

In their recent match against Islamabad United, Karachi Kings suffered a defeat despite a strong performance. Colin Munro’s explosive 82 and a solid partnership with Alex Hales propelled United to victory.

While Hales contributed with a steady 47, Hasan Ali made a crucial breakthrough by dismissing him in the 12th over. Munro’s innings was the highlight, comprising eight boundaries and four sixes.

Although Karachi Kings managed to pick up quick wickets, United’s skipper Shadab Khan and Salman Ali Agha steered their team to victory with sensible batting.

Shadab Khan scored 10 off 11 balls while Agha contributed a vital 25 off 17 deliveries, ensuring United’s win with an unbeaten 30-run partnership.
