News by “Sana Ullah”

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez recently addressed his departure from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after serving as the Director of the Pakistan Men’s Team.

In a statement posted on X, previously Twitter, Hafeez disclosed that his tenure, initially set for four months, was abruptly shortened to only two months.

Expressing his disappointment, Hafeez vowed to uncover both cricketing and non-cricketing factors contributing to poor performances during his tenure.

Despite his dedication to representing Pakistan with dignity, Hafeez lamented the premature end to his tenure, which he had embraced with enthusiasm to initiate positive reforms.

In an official statement, the PCB acknowledged Hafeez’s contributions and expressed gratitude for his service as Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team.

Hafeez took over the role from Mickey Arthur in November following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the ICC World Cup 2023. However, his tenure was marred by Pakistan’s struggles, including a series loss to Australia and New Zealand.

As Hafeez prepares to move forward, he remains committed to transparency and accountability, promising to shed light on the factors behind Pakistan’s underwhelming performances.
