Pakistan Dominates in Davis Cup Juniors; Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi Takes Helm at PTF:

In Islamabad, Pakistan delivered a resounding 3-0 victory over Guam, securing their position atop Pool H and advancing to the elite top eight in the ongoing Davis Cup Juniors (Under-16) Tournament in Sri Lanka. Following their earlier triumph against Bahrain with an identical scoreline, Pakistan maintained their dominance against Guam.

Abu Bakar Talha demonstrated sheer dominance, overpowering Oliver Schalumann without conceding a single game, securing a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory. Similarly, Hamza Roman clinched his match convincingly against Junhyuk Seo with a score of 6-2, 6-0. The duo of Mikaeel Shahbaz and Abu Bakar sealed Pakistan’s victory with another flawless performance, defeating Jaren Vera and Junhyuk Seo 6-0, 6-0.

Meanwhile, the transition of leadership within the Pakistan Tennis Federation occurred on the 20th of February 2024 at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad.

Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, the outgoing President, formally passed the baton of PTF leadership to Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who assumed the presidency following his election on February 10th, 2024.

Senator Salim Saifullah Khan extended his congratulations to Aisam, expressing confidence in his commitment to advancing and nurturing tennis across Pakistan.

In response, Aisam expressed gratitude to Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and pledged relentless efforts toward the enhancement of tennis, with a particular emphasis on player development and the expansion of tennis infrastructure nationwide.
