Queenstown, New Zealand – December 9, 2023: Rain couldn’t dampen the excitement as New Zealand snatched a narrow victory over Pakistan by six runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method (DLS) in the final T20I of the series at John Davies Oval on Saturday.

Despite being sent in to bat, Pakistan posted a competitive 137/5 thanks to contributions from Sidra Amin (43), Muneeba Ali (27), and Nida Dar (25). Amelia Kerr, leading the White Ferns in the absence of Sophie Devine, shone with the ball, capturing three wickets.

Chasing the target, New Zealand appeared poised for victory at 101/2 after 15 overs. However, the heavens opened, forcing an early end to the game. Utilizing the DLS calculations, the White Ferns were declared winners by a narrow six-run margin.

Suzie Bates, anchoring the Kiwi chase with an unbeaten 51, was named Player of the Match. Pakistan’s Fatima Sana, who finished the series with a series-high six wickets, received the Player of the Series award.

Though Pakistan secured an unassailable 2-0 lead earlier in the series, the Kiwis saved their best for last, demonstrating their resilience and fighting spirit.

Both teams now shift their focus to the upcoming ODI series, starting December 12th, which forms part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
