The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be an historic event, co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 1 to June 29. The tournament will feature a record 20 teams vying for the coveted title, with Dallas hosting the opening match between the USA and Canada on June 1 at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium.

The participating teams, including co-hosts West Indies and the USA, along with qualifiers like Afghanistan, England, India, and others, have been divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eights stage.

Cricket enthusiasts can anticipate thrilling matchups, such as the clash between cricket giants India and Pakistan in New York on June 9. New York’s cutting-edge 34,000-seat modular stadium in Nassau County will host eight matches, including this high-profile encounter.

Defending champions England will commence their title defense against Scotland on June 4 in Barbados. Another highlight will be the West Indies facing New Zealand on June 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

The tournament will also witness first-time qualifiers Uganda taking on Afghanistan in Guyana on June 3. Nepal, making their T20 World Cup return since 2014, will open their campaign against Sri Lanka at Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.

Upon completion of the group stage, the top two teams from each group will move on to the Super Eight stage, with matches scheduled in popular Caribbean destinations. The semi-finals will be held in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, leading to the grand finale at Barbados’ Kensington Oval on June 29.

Fans eager to witness the action can register their interest for tickets, and public ticket sales will be conducted through a ballot. Additionally, fans can secure match tickets through the official travel program, ICC Travel & Tours.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the expanded tournament, emphasizing the significance of hosting in the USA. CWI Chief Executive Johnny Grave and T20 World Cup Incorporated Chair Peter Hutton highlighted the unique flavor each host country will bring to the event.
