LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi have received a major boost ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 final, with Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana rejoining the squad for the title clash at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

The 23-year-old pacer has been granted a fresh No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which highlighted the value of high pressure franchise cricket experience in its decision.

Rana had initially been cleared to participate in the PSL only until April 13, after which he returned to Bangladesh along with other national players for the home series against New Zealand. Although he was included in the squad for that series, he did not feature in the first two T20 Internationals, as selectors opted to manage his workload ahead of a demanding Test schedule.

Following a reassessment, the BCB has now allowed Rana to return to Pakistan for the PSL final, providing Zalmi with a timely reinforcement.

Rana’s return comes at a crucial moment for Peshawar Zalmi, who booked their place in the final after defeating Islamabad United in the Qualifier. They will now face the winner of the second Eliminator between Islamabad United and Hyderabad Kingsmen.

During his brief stint in PSL 11, Rana made a strong impact with the ball. The young pacer picked up seven wickets in four matches at an impressive average of 10.85, while maintaining an excellent economy rate of 5.42.
