CUTTACK: India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah reached a remarkable personal milestone on Tuesday during the opening T20I against South Africa, becoming the first Indian bowler ever to claim 100 wickets in each international format Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Heading into the match, Bumrah was just one wicket away from the 100-mark in T20Is, with 99 wickets in 80 matches. The historic moment arrived in the 10th over, when he dismissed Dewald Brevis to complete his century of T20I wickets.

With this achievement, the 30-year-old speedster joined an exclusive group of global cricketing greats, including Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi, Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga, New Zealand’s Tim Southee, and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan. The only other bowlers to have taken 100 wickets across all three formats of the game.

Bumrah now holds the distinction of being India’s first-ever bowler to cross the 100-wicket milestone in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, further cementing his status as one of the finest all-format pacers of the modern game.
