LAHORE: Fast bowler Hunain Shah delivered a match winning performance in the final over to guide Hyderabad Kingsmen to a thrilling victory and a place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 final.

Batting first in Eliminator 2, Kingsmen overcame an early setback to post a competitive total of 186/5 in their 20 overs. Usman Khan led the charge with a brilliant unbeaten 61 off just 30 balls, smashing 10 boundaries, while Kusal Perera added a valuable 37 from 21 deliveries, including four fours and two sixes.

In response, Islamabad United fought hard but fell just short, finishing on 184 in their 20 overs. The match went down to the wire, with United needing six runs in the final over.

Hunain Shah rose to the occasion with exceptional composure and precision. The young pacer conceded just three runs in the last over, securing a dramatic two-run victory for Kingsmen and sealing their place in the final.

Speaking after the match, Hunain Shah emphasized the importance of backing his skills under pressure.

“I wanted to believe in my abilities. The focus was on execution, and I knew getting Faheem out would make things easier for us,” he said.

He also revealed his clear-cut strategy ahead of the decisive over, which he discussed with captain Marnus Labuschagne.

“I told Marnus that we had no margin for error and that I would bowl six yorkers. I stuck to the plan, and thankfully it worked,” he added.

The 22-year-old credited the team’s collective effort for their success throughout the tournament.

“Different players have stepped up in different matches, and that’s been the key to our success,” he concluded.

Hyderabad Kingsmen will now face Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, setting up an exciting clash for the title.
