KARACHI: Islamabad United have shared a reassuring update on pace bowler Hamza Sajjad following a frightening head injury during a training session.

The incident occurred at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre, where Hamza was struck on the back of the head by a shot from Mark Chapman during nets.
According to a statement from the franchise, the 29-year-old briefly lost consciousness after the impact and was immediately attended to by the team’s medical staff before being rushed to hospital.
He regained consciousness in the ambulance and was responsive upon arrival, communicating with medical personnel.
Hamza underwent CT scans and detailed medical assessments and was kept under observation overnight as a precaution.
After being cleared by doctors, the right-arm pacer has now rejoined the Islamabad United squad at the team hotel. He will remain with the team, with medical staff continuing to monitor his condition closely.
The franchise expressed gratitude for the swift medical response and the support shown by fans, fellow teams, and the wider cricketing community.
Hamza Sajjad has played six matches in his developing T20 career, picking up eight wickets so far. The Gujrat-born pacer was signed by Islamabad United in the first-ever PSL players’ auction for PKR 7 million, although he is yet to make his debut for the side.
Led by Shadab Khan, Islamabad United currently sit third on the points table with two wins, one defeat, and one washed-out match, accumulating five points with a strong net run rate.
They are next scheduled to face defending champions Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday in their fifth match of Pakistan Super League Season 11.
