LAHORE: Fakhar Zaman has filed an appeal against his two match suspension after being found guilty of a Level 3 breach of the Pakistan Super League Code of Conduct, sources revealed on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had announced the suspension earlier this week following a controversial incident during Lahore Qalandars’ clash against Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
The controversy unfolded in the final moments of the match when on-field umpires penalized Lahore Qalandars with five runs and ordered a ball change before the last over of Karachi’s innings.
The charge was levelled by umpires Shahid Saikat and Faisal Khan Afridi, along with TV umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth umpire Tariq Rasheed.
Fakhar Zaman denied the allegation and requested a full disciplinary hearing under the PSL Code of Conduct.
The hearing was conducted by match referee Roshan Mahanama, who reviewed all available evidence and granted the batter a personal hearing before upholding the charge.
Representatives from Lahore Qalandars, including captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, team director Sameen Rana, and manager Farooq Anwar, were also present during the proceedings.
Zaman was charged under Article 2.14 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which relates to altering the condition of the ball in violation of Clause 41.3 of the playing conditions.
A Level 3 offence carries a minimum one-match ban and can extend up to two matches the maximum penalty was imposed in this case.
