Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has submitted its provisional squad to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The final deadline for submitting squads is January 31, although several teams have already announced their line-ups. As per ICC regulations, participating nations are allowed to make changes to their preliminary squads without ICC approval until the deadline. Any alterations after January 31 will require clearance from the ICC’s Technical Committee.

According to reports, the provisional list includes key players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf. The upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka is expected to play a vital role in determining final selections, with several players vying to secure their places in the World Cup squad.

Following the Sri Lanka tour, Pakistan will announce squads for the T20I series against Australia as well as the final lineup for the T20 World Cup 2026.

The national team is scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka in phases on January 4 and 5. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will face each other in a three match T20I series, with all matches set to be played in Dambulla on January 7, 9, and 11.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will run from February 7 to March 8, with Pakistan opening their campaign against the Netherlands. The Green Shirts have been placed in Group A, alongside India, the Netherlands, the USA, and Namibia.
