LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Friday announced the prize money for the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, which will feature an expanded roster of eight teams.
In a post shared on his official X account, Naqvi revealed that the PSL 11 champions will take home $500,000, while the runners-up will earn $300,000.
Adding a new dimension to the league’s vision, he also introduced a special award acknowledging off-field contributions. A cash prize of $200,000 will be given to the “Best Franchise Contributing Towards Cricket Development.”
“Complementing the Pakistan Super League’s growth, I am thrilled to announce a new reward for franchises in the forthcoming editions,” Naqvi wrote.
Auction for Two New PSL Franchises Set for January 2026
The announcement coincided with another major development: the PCB has officially confirmed the auction date for PSL’s two new teams.
The auction will be held on 6 January 2026, a defining moment in the league’s expansion journey.
The cities shortlisted for franchise allocation include:
- Faisalabad
- Rawalpindi
- Hyderabad
- Sialkot
- Muzaffarabad
- Gilgit
Only technically qualified bidders will be allowed into the auction, with successful bidders receiving the rights to select their team name or city from the shortlisted pool.
PCB Reiterates: No Team Names Finalised Yet
Thursday’s developments also helped clear the air after rampant social media speculation suggested that Faisalabad and Gilgit had already been confirmed as the two new PSL teams.
The PCB dismissed these rumours, stressing that team names will be finalised only after the auction, and strictly according to procedures outlined in the official bid documents.

Highlighting the league’s growing stature, the PCB stated:
“The HBL PSL, now recognised as one of the premier T20 leagues, continues to grow in commercial strength, fan following, and overall impact. We look forward to welcoming new stakeholders to the PSL ecosystem.”
