Lahore – September 1, 2025: Pakistan middle-order batter Asif Ali has officially announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.

The 33-year-old power-hitter, known for his explosive finishing ability, represented Pakistan in T20Is and ODIs, gaining a reputation as a big-hitting option in the lower middle order.
Asif made his international debut in 2018 and went on to play 55 T20Is, scoring 544 runs at a strike rate of over 130, and featured in 20 ODIs, where he added 382 runs to his name. His aggressive batting style often made him a match-winner in crunch situations, particularly in the shortest format.
In his retirement note, Asif thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), teammates, coaches, and fans for their support throughout his career. While he is stepping away from international duty, Asif is expected to continue featuring in franchise leagues around the world.
His most memorable performances include his heroics in the T20 World Cup 2021, where his quick-fire finishing knocks helped Pakistan secure vital victories.
