Visa Hurdle Delays Mohammad Amir's Departure for Ireland Tour

News by “Sports Reporter”

Pakistan’s speedster, Mohammad Amir, is set to miss the team’s departure to Ireland on Tuesday night due to visa complications, confirmed team management on Monday.

While the rest of the squad will fly out to Dublin as scheduled, Amir will await the first available flight post acquiring his visa.

This isn’t the first time the star bowler has encountered visa issues; a similar situation arose during the tours of Ireland and England in 2018.

Amir’s return to international cricket was marked during the home T20I series against New Zealand, following his decision to retract his retirement before the series commenced.

Pakistan is slated to contest three T20Is at Clontarf in Dublin on 10th, 12th, and 14th May 2024, with all matches commencing at 3 PM local time.

The upcoming series in Ireland, followed by four T20Is in England, is pivotal for the Green Shirts as they gear up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).

Pakistan squad for Ireland and England T20Is:

Babar Azam (c), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Agha, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Khan.
