Pakistan Pacer Naseem Shah Among Overseas Contenders for 2024 LPL Auction

The 2024 edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is gearing up for its most competitive player auction yet, with over 500 cricketers from 24 cricket-playing nations expressing interest in participating.

While the auction dates are yet to be confirmed, the event promises to draw top-tier talent from all ICC full member nations, vying for spots in the league’s five teams.

Among the notable overseas players listed for the auction are Tamim Iqbal, Tim Southee, Rassie Van Der Dussen, Jimmy Neesham, and Mushfiqur Rahim. Also in the mix are players like Reeza Hendricks, Rilee Rossouw, Shai Hope, and Taskin Ahmed. Notably, Pakistan’s pacer Naseem Shah is among those seeking a spot in the tournament.

The 2024 LPL is scheduled to kick off on July 1, with the final showdown set for July 21. Spread across three venues in Sri Lanka – Colombo, Dambulla, and Kandy – the tournament promises exciting cricket action for fans worldwide.

Interestingly, the LPL will run concurrently with Major League Cricket and the T20 Blast. Major League Cricket’s second season starts on July 4 and may wrap up around July 28, while the T20 Blast will entertain cricket enthusiasts from May 30 to September 14.
